About

In a short 15 minute production we aim to  represent the life of Georg Buchner drawing from historical facts that have been recorded about him. Then, where our sources fail us, to fill in the gaps with a blend of imagination and dramatic license. Georg Buchner was a lecturer, scientist, political revolutionary and writer among other things in his brief life before dying of Typhus at the age of 23, and led a life that we believe worthy of sharing with you.

We will also include brief interpretations of three of his plays; Danton’s Death, Leonce and Lena and Woyzeck. As we intend to portray Buchner’s life in a naturalistic manner, we have decided to juxtapose these scenes with expressionistic extracts from the plays in the form of dreams, signifying the inspiration of such works.
